Configuring Efficient
Speedstream ADSL Router

The following instructions applies to
Win98/98SE/Me
1) If you are connected to your ISP,
disconnect first.
2) Right click your network neighbourhood and
select properties
3) Choose TCP/IP-> 3Com Etherlink (your
NIC might be other brands), double click on it.

4) Click and select Specify an IP address.
For IP address, key in 10.0.0.2, subnet mask 255.0.0.0
5) Click OK and restart your
machine
6) Now, run IE or NS, key in http://10.0.0.1/ for the URL
7) When prompt with password, the default is
no password, so just click OK
8) On the left panel, click on Switch to
Router Mode.
9) Select PPPoE, Enter the respective VPI and
VCI number, enter your username and password that is used for logging into
your ISP.

10) Once you're done, click on Configuration
Summary and you shall see the screen below

11) You're Done!! and you have just
successfully converted your Bridge to Router mode.
12) Now, your can surf the web without having
to login again using PPPoE Client or those RAS client.
13) Most importantly, go and buy yourself a
hub or switch and connect your Speedstream 5660 to the hub or switch using
a cross cable.
14) Plug all your PCs to the HUB and
everytime you power up your PC, you can surf immediately.
